What: Driving Diary (12 month experimental project)
Where: South Australia
Why: To record 12 months of my life driving, and in the process reflect on my own driving behaviour and to possibly highlight how other ppl’s behaviours can impact negatively on us. Accidents can be so easily avoided
Details: This is part 2 of my first car dash cam test. Aside from an altercation occurring just to the left (off cam), this test attempts to highlight where I can improve the settings, focus and what to expect in the different lighting conditions.
Comment: the males involved in the (unrelated to me) road rage incident stand in front of the drive through lane when I first arrive at McDonalds, they then leave and appear to get into an altercation of sorts with another motorist as they enter Hindley Street.
Incident: Antisocial behaviour, camera testing
Conditions: Light rain
Date/Time: Friday, 12 Dec 2008, around 0100
Location(s):
- Grote Street
- Hindley Street
- West Tce petrol station
- Ocean Bvd (to test the sky line view with cam)
Sound: Whatever is playing on my stereo, no sound is edited, the only visual editing are straightfoward cuts for brevity. Other static noise you may hear is when my window is down, my mic picks up a bit of wind noise & also the voice directions on my GPS.
Technical Notes: Pretty happy with how the cam handled first time out and in extremely low light conditions, the angle of the cam was crooked first time around, this time it’s a bit better. Unsure about focus setting.
This is for educational (not punitive) purposes, it is my belief that citizens shouldn’t police other citizens.
