Bad intersections & traffic lights that cost buses time & money

In this video I go over a few (certainly not all) spots where poorly designed intersections and timed traffic signals cause delays.
In this video I go over the following spots:
1. Greenvale…Glen Cove Road and Northern Blvd (NY25a)
2. Old Westbury..Glen Cove Road and Jericho Turnpike (NY25)
3. Roosevelt Field…north exit
4. Uniondale…Front street and Uniondale Ave
5. Uniondale…Jerusalem Avenue and Uniondale Avenue

Mistimed traffic lights not only cost buses time & money, but they also cause those same problems for motorists. The traffic lights on Long Island are very old and inefficient, and should be replaced with “smarter” traffic lights than can sense traffic conditions, talk to eachother, and give priority to buses.
Unfortunately such ideas are stalled time & time again. Especially since Red Light Cameras went up, the traffic signals are more annoying than ever, and thats the idea, so drivers get impatient, run the light, and get caught by the camera!
New York needs to follow NJ and get rid of those Red Light Cameras once & for all.
