Catherington Lane Traffic Lights & How to Cheat the Lights (please read description)

Earlier in the week I was on my way back from Horndean towards Waterlooville and as part of my journey I had to pass the Catherington Lane Traffic lights.

I remember this junction prior to the A3(M) when it was simply a ‘T’ junction with the A3. I remember this junction when a roundabout was put in place to support access to and from the A3(M). I will not forget the many hours racked up sat at this junction waiting to pass, three minutes on an average day.

So you want to know how to cheat the Catherington Lane Traffic lights? When travelling from north to south queued traffic take the left filter lane, then at the Morrisons roundabout go all of the way around the roundabout and return to the Catherington Lane Traffic lights. The lights, assuming the no buses arrive to use the Bus Lane (aka the ‘Glitch’) and steal your go, will be several minutes faster.

Hats off to the designer of the Catherington Lane Traffic Lights for putting in a cheat mode for use of local residents.
