Paulding County Georgia has topped 150,000 people and the county is healthy is the short report from today’s state of the county address by Chairman David Austin, but that bulletin misses the positive and not so incremental progress made since 2012.
The Chairman related advances in industrial development, transportation, health care and public safety as he spoke to capacity crowd hosted by the Paulding Chamber this seventh day of March 2013.
Spreading praise amongst all those in the county who contributed to the progress, made despite cuts of nearly $40 million in revenue (and spending) over the past five years, Austin covered all the bases mentioned above but also water (the reservoir), transportation (some real news there) and resilience.
Big stories include apparently action is becoming imminent on the widening of GA Highway 92 from I-20 through Hiram with Austin predicting construction may begin during this term of office.
The fact that Paulding County High School will finally get a traffic light to control access during the key day parts has already been mentioned as well as the locating of a State Highway Patrol Post in the county.
What has been mentioned is the signing of an AMC cable TV ‘series’ – it is in the pilot stage – which may make the investment of the county in the movie studio appear a very wise decision.
Go ahead and watch the video for more details.
