Flashback – looking back to opening ceremony of Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1932, Australia.

VS of the last days of construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1932. MS workmen at top of Sydney Harbour Bridge. GV Sydney Harbour Bridge. LS the Governor at the time, Sir Phillip Game, arriving for the opening ceremony and being greeted by Premier Mr Jack Lang. Unexpectedly, a member of the New Guard, Captain de Groote, plunges forward on horseback and cuts ribbon with his sword before opening ceremony starts (some kind of protest). Police grab him and drag him to the ground, the police then lead the Captain away. MS officials tie the ceremonial ribbon together again. MS Australian Premier Jack Lang steps forward and cuts ribbon.

VS bathing beauties in swimsuits marching across Sydney Harbour Bridge, leading a big carnival parade. MS man on penny-farthing bike. VS thousands of people surging forward to walk across bridge. VS motorists stopping and paying their toll at end of bridge. GV present day traffic moving along modern approach to Sydney Harbour Bridge.
