James Alcock’s take on Toronto’s traffic problems & ways to end traffic gridlock!

According to Get Toronto Moving Transportation Committee https://www.gettorontomoving.ca/Home_Page.html
“High-capacity rapid transit:
…Support for the Yonge Subway northern extension as proposed.
Completion of the Sheppard Subway east to connect to an extended Bloor-Danforth Subway near the Scarborough Town Centre and west to Downsview, ultimately extending west to Pearson International Airport and then southerly to Kipling Station and east to the Toronto Zoo
Construction of a ‘U’-shaped Downtown Relief Subway Line underground along Queen Street between Dufferin Street and Pape Avenue and then stretching north to join the Bloor-Danforth Subway at both ends. Eventually, it can be extended north at both ends to the Eglinton-Crosstown Light Rail Transit line.
Extension of the Bloor Subway west to Sherway Gardens
Extension of the Bloor-Danforth Subway east to connect to the extended Sheppard Subway at Sheppard Avenue East northeast of the Scarborough Town Centre (the Scarborough Subway).
Replacement of Toronto’s streetcar network with new electric trolleybuses running in curb lanes….
Improved traffic flow:
Improvements to existing roads:
Two new tunnelled highways within existing corridors:
Extension of Highway 400 south as a privately-built and privately-funded upgrade of Black Creek Drive to full expressway standard and extended further as a toll tunnel under the Kitchener GO rail corridor to Dupont Street. This would be a privately-built toll facility similar to Highway 407, known as the Black Creek Tunnel.
Construction of a new eastern privately-built and privately-funded toll tunnel under a short section of the Gatineau Hydro Corridor from the Don Valley Parkway to Eglinton Avenue East, then continuing under Eglinton Avenue East and Kingston Road to Highway 401 via Highway 2A. This will be known as the Scarborough Tunnel. Alternatively, the route could continue east along the Gatineau Hydro Corridor to Highway 401 at Morningside Avenue…”
