WILLIAMSBURG – The Department of Transportation says new traffic lights are expected to be up and running this week along Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, eight months after a Brooklyn family was killed in a crash.
The lights are being installed at Wilson and Hooper streets. Back in March, 21-year-old parents-to-be Raizy and Nathan Glauber were killed after a hit-and-run driver struck the livery cab they were riding in on the way to the hospital. Their son was delivered prematurely and died a day later.
Councilman Stephen Levin says the driver in the crash was speeding and he hopes the new traffic lights will force people to slow down.
