A new traffic signal to improve safety and aid in controlling traffic flow has been installed at the U.S. 98 (Back Beach Road) and Hills Road intersection in Bay County. The signal will be activated Wednesday, Sept. 30 at approximately 10 a.m. (CDT). Motorists are encouraged to travel safely through the newly signalized intersection.
The new traffic signal will debut a first for Bay County, a flashing yellow arrow. The flashing yellow arrow means a left turn is allowed, drivers should yield to oncoming traffic and pedestrians, as oncoming traffic has a green light. The signal has been in the flash mode for a week.
All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to pay attention to the reduced speed limit when traveling through the construction area.
