Parking Guidance Systems (PGS) – Part 2 Of 2

Parking Guidance Systems (PGS) are based primarily on the use of message signs to guide drivers to the nearest available vacant spot for parking. The system combined of:
-traffic monitoring, by use of ultrasonic sensors
-communication between controllers, which gather status of parking lot from the ultrasonic sensors
-processing of information by a computer
-variable-message sign to display number of vacancies at each parking level

The availability of parking spaces in each facility is obtained from ultrasonic sensors installed above the parking spot to detect if the spot is being occupied with car or not. When theres no car detected, the Green LED indicator installed will light up, when theres a car detected at the parking spot, the green LED will go off.
