Here’s an update of my n-scale model railroad controlled by a Raspberry Pi with IR sensors scattered around the track. I’ve added a wireless keyfob as well to allow walk-around manual control of the train. The hardware and software as well as sensing methods and addition of a realistic traffic light is described.
