The Motorola sb6141 is often used by Bright House networks for basic Internet service.
There is the red flashing light on the front which intuitively would indicate some type of trouble.
In reality, it just indicated the modems Ethernet port is connected to a 10/100 speed switch port. And, nothing is necessarily wrong.
On the other hand, if it was connected to a 1gig switch port, the light flashes blue.
I think this was a poor design choice. Instead of red, maybe they should have chosen amber (which is what all the other network manufacturers use to indicate non-gigabit speeds)
