I’ve added an transistor switch + 18 IR-Leds to make my universal remote control 18 times stronger, and it works like a charm. The construction is very simple – all you need is a PNP transistor used as a switch, C-connected to the Anode, and Kathode is connected to Minus, and the base of the transistor is shorted to the Minus and the entire thing will light up, now remember – the IR remote pulses…so the light isn’t constant…this means you can easily apply overvoltage and get a really strong “IR” pulse without destroying your IR`s.
