A male driver went off of the highway,up a 40 foot embankment, and then got airborne, and as the car was heading back down towards the highway. It hit a large Pepper Tree, breaking off large branches before hitting the ground, landing on it’s side. Firefighters had to use the “Jaws of Life” and electric saws to extricate the victim, cutting off the roof of the car. He was transported with serious injuries. Traffic was slowed to two lanes for the duration of the accident/rescue.
