Major Crimes/Special Investigations Unit received reports of access device fraud at above location. A skimming device was discovered on an ATM inside the 7-11 located at 5800 Rising Sun Avenue. The store manager reports that a patron using the ATM made the discovery and alerted staff.
Major Crimes Unit responded and recovered the devices. They consist of a green globe shaped card reader and pin recording camera attached to a frame around the cash slot. These devices were fitted over the ATM card and cash slots and allowed unknown person(s) to intercept Debit/Credit card account information and PIN numbers.
Surveillance video was reviewed and investigation revealed the below pictured white male placed the device on September 29, 2017 at approximately 6:00 am.
Suspect Description: White male, 5’8″-6’0″, thin build, 160 lbs, black hair, large nose, wearing a black leather jacket, light colored blue jeans with red design on left thigh, and white Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers.
