STORYLINE
Moscow is one of the worst cities in the world for drivers.
Twenty years ago there were only 300,000 cars in Moscow. Today there are over three million (m) and the number is rising fast.
According to a recent study, the average Moscow driver wastes more than a full working day each month sitting in traffic.
Another day, another traffic jam.
This is a typical Moscow evening rush hour.
The traffic light may be showing green but these drivers are going nowhere.
There are 650 traffic jams each day in the Russian capital. The cost in lost productivity and revenues for businesses is believed to run into billions (b) of dollars each year.
The frustration is beginning to show for some drivers, while others take a more relaxed view of the problem.
It seems the only way to beat this jam is to take to two-wheels instead.
Truck driver Oleg says he spends up to four hours each day stuck in traffic.
The number of new car owners in Moscow is only making the problem worse. Few are willing to forsake their cars for public transport.
For others, it’s going to be a long wait.
