The death toll rises following the Philadelphia Amtrak train crash | Mashable



Six people are dead after an Amtrak train en route from D.C. to New York derailed near Philadelphia on Tuesday night, a doctor at Temple University confirmed to reporters.

The crash left 144 people of the 243 on board injured. At least six of those injured are in critical condition.

All seven cars of Northeast Regional Train 188 were affected by the derailment, with two of them badly mangled when the train left the tracks around 9 p.m. EST, near the 2200 block of Wheatsheaf Lane in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia.
