Hi my friends!!! Today is so nice weather – and I’ve decided to go to the country side to breath the fresh air. My new cabriolet car took me very fast to the forest. I had great time there around the nature.
Now I’m going back to the city. We are close to it. I see high buildings now. And the first traffic light too!
Do you know, my friends, what is the traffic lights??? And why does it show different lights to the drivers and pedestrians????
Ok. I’ll tell you!
The traffic light is to regulate traffic on the road. It is the construction with special visors. Inside the traffic light there are lamps, also there are installed colored lenses – red, yellow and green.
Oh!!!! What do the colors mean???? Let’s see my friends what each color mean. Red means denger, yellow warns us, and green allows. So, traffic light for drivers says: red light – stop! Yellow – get ready to go, and green – go!!!!!!
Look here!!!! This is traffic light for pedestrians. It has only 2 signals – red, with the picture of Hand, tells pedestrians no to cross the road, they have to wait! It means cars can go now!!! And when there is green light, with the picture of running man – pedestrian can cross the road!!!! All cars stop!!!
But be careful!!!!!!! When you cross the road when the green light is on, you also should be veeeeeery careful!!!!! Because there is some special cars that can go on red and green lights!!! Those cars have special signals on – emergency lights and siren: ambulance, fire truck and police car. All cars and pedestrians Have to give them the road!!!!!

You should know one more thing, my friends – When we have green light for pedestrians at the same time for cars there is red light!!!!!
