1. The lights controller makes use of car sensors (Inductive vehicle detector) at the intersection of the farm road with the highway, to sense presence of cars.
2. The lights controller makes use of foure timers: a 10 seconds timer (T10), a 5 seconds timer (T5), a 3 seconds timer (T3) and a 2 seconds timer (T1). Once a trigger signal is applied to a timer, the timer output is zero and becomes 1 after the programmed time period. For example, upon reset, the T10 timer output is ’0′ and will become ’1′ after 10 s have elapsed and stays ’1′ until reset by the controller.
3. Pedestrians can use the intersection by pressing push buttons. Pedestrians can need cross the highway and farm road same time .
4. Highway lights remain green as long as there are no cars triggering the farm road sensors.
5. When highway lights have been green for a minimum of 10 seconds, a car on farm road may cause highway lights to cycle through yellow to red states.
6. Meanwhile, farm road lights will turn green and remain green for a minimum of 5 seconds.
7. farm road lights will cycle through yellow and red states and highway lights will then turn green.
8. The lights stay yellow for 2 seconds.
9. If there is no presence of the car if you press push button it will case to high way light to cycle though yellow to red state (after 10 seconds). Highway and farm road red light remain red for a 3 seconds.
10. High way lights will cycle through yellow and red states and pedestrian lights will then turn green
11. Each traffic post has three lights GREEN, YELLOW and RED.
12. In the default state, High way light lights show GREEN and farm road and pedestrian lights show RED.
