Two men were killed and two others were severely injured in a shooting in Batu Kawan on Sunday night. The shooting took place at a traffic-light junction near Bukit Tambun at about 10:30pm. The four victims, aged between 28 and 60, were travelling in a pickup truck after they attended a wedding about 150 meters from where the shooting took place. Two unknown assailants pulled up to the left of their vehicle and fired multiple shots at them using automatic pistols. The victims were taken to the Seberang Jaya Hospital after the shooting. However, the men aged 28 and 40 succumed to their injuries upon arrival. The other two are still hospitalized.
Police say investigations are underway and they have not ruled out business rivalry as the motive of the attack.
