Two speeding vehicles going through red light

date: Wednesday, ‎March 8, ‎2012
time: at about 7:05 PM
license plates: n/a (car going right), BKMK 463 (car going left)
location: near intersection Skylark and Northlake Dr.

comments: Maximum street speed on Northfield Drive is 50 km/h. Most drivers on this street do speed on this street and run the red light at the T-intersection with Skylark. I had an minor fender incident years ago at this intersection when making a left turn with a car with headlights off at night speeding and going through red (while the other traffic was stopped). Law considers the left hard turns accidents the fault of the drivers (making the left turn) no matter whether what the other car did (speeding, going through red when it should have been stopped, etc).

The Highway Traffic Act: The amber light (yellow) actually means that the motorist SHALL stop their vehicle unless it can’t be done in safety.

Note when the cars in the video running the red light appear in the intersection, the color of the light, and the speed they must have been going at to zip across the intersection!

This happens here on a daily basis! I live near this intersection!
