“Controlling the traffic is a much tougher job now compared to what it was like in the past. We have narrow roads and the number of vehicles on the streets have increased significantly. Also, people seem to lack awareness …which makes it a more difficult job for us at present.”

LEAD IN:
Women in the former Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal have conquered yet another male bastion.
More than 100 women are now part of the female traffic police force, directing the flow of vehicles across the Nepalese capital.
STORYLINE:
Today the Kathmandu.Metropolitan Women’s traffic police force is 125-strong, managing and regulating traffic at major junctions in the city.
